Not one of My promises will ever fail you.
Joshua 23:14
Pastor Comment-There are many many promises in the Bible covering all aspects of life and circumstance that are there to help and reassure us that our Lord is in control but for me this verse becomes personal it’s about our individual promises spoken into our lives by God. We all have been given dreams and visions for the future, a taste of what we could achieve for the Kingdom, a promise of salvation but also the satisfaction of being involved in something bigger than we could ever comprehend, to serve in the house of the Lord.
Background: This promise comes from Joshua’s farewell address, where he reminds Israel of God’s faithfulness throughout their journey. Joshua highlights that every promise made to them has been fulfilled.
- Explanation: God’s faithfulness is unwavering. What He says, He does. His promises are reliable because they are rooted in His unchanging nature.
- Application: Trust God’s word in uncertain times. Reflect on His past faithfulness as assurance for the future. Stand firm in His promises, knowing they will never fail.
- Supporting Verses:
- Numbers 23:19: “God is not human, that He should lie…”
- 2 Corinthians 1:20: “For no matter how many promises God has made, they are ‘Yes’ in Christ.”
